Cries That Have Gone Unheard

Stillness remained in the desolate land…
Lost were those stories of a horrid past.
Unforgivable and yet wiped a clean slate…

Once forgotten, remained still engraved…
Fossils, like the stories etched in stones.
Never to be lost, like was intended to be…

Though seemingly lost, memories lived…
Emotions existed, trapped in hallowed trees.
Wraith-like insignia of past...lingered on…

Forgotten souls...unspoken ghastly acts…
Scratched remaining…acts of desperation.
In unison, screams echoed with the wind…

Soil, once laden with blood...grew forth…
A new beginning...a new innocence.
A new soul latched with history, deep within...

Unending transfer of truth, cycled thru…
Thru bloody red petals of the dark-hued rose…
Thru whispering rustles between the leaves…

Disappearing fossils spouting forth hints…
Asking to be heard, pleading to anyone…
Of horrible mistakes that ought not to repeat.
